Hello and welcome to the revamped Sportzone e-News!
You will notice a couple of small layout changes which I hope pleases the eye, along with plenty of good info and pics to
get you excited for Spring and Summer.
We've had a stunner of a week here at the shop - it's funny how even though the weather hasn't been the greatest, just the
fact that it's officially Spring has got motorcyclists (and everyone else!) excited. In this issue you'll find your invite to our
Sportzone pre-season rev-up being held here next Wednesday night. Be sure to come along and bring a friend or two. For
all you road racers out there you'll be happy to see the Endurance Race at Ruapuna this weekend is now free to enter for
all riders - the endurance is a heck of a lot of fun so don't be shy to get involved. For those of you who may have
missed out on our free bikini bike wash last Saturday I've included a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure. The
amount of people that took advantage of the free bike wash was incredible and the shop was humming with excitement
from all corners - good work! Lastly, we have another advanced rider training day at Levels raceway in Timaru approaching real
fast - any body who's attended one of these knows how invaluable the skills learned are. No matter what your skill or
experience level, do yourself a favour and check this day out.
Read on, and until next time - keep it on 2 wheels!

Free Entry for Endurance Race Riders
This Saturday 4th September
You heard right folks - the famous Motorcycling
Canterbury Endurance race is on this weekend
at Ruapuna raceway. Normally there is an entry cost
involved for all riders that enter, but this time around the good people at Motorcycling Canterbury are covering the cost of entry and transponder hire for all riders!
If you think you may be interested in entering this 55
minute endurance race then send Wendy from Motorcycling Canterbury an email at Wendy.Guy@ird.govt.nz. Walk-in
entries will be accepted on the day but you need to be at
the track for sign on at 8am. Practice will be at 9am, qualifying at 11am and the race will begin at 1pm. If
your up to the challenge then you can ride the whole 55 minutes yourself, or you may choose to team up with
a partner and do half each. Either way it's a good time had by all and a lot is always learned by those who participate so don't miss out!

Bikini Bike Wash a Hit
This past Saturday the Sportzone car park was transformed
into the busiest location on Manchester St for most of
the day. Why? Well, when you extend the opening hours of the
greatest bike shop in town and combine it with a FREE bikini bike
wash for anyone and everyone - the results are always going to be
positive to say the least.
Our 3 Sportzone bikini-clad beauties worked tirelessly for 3 straight
hours on an array of dirty 2 wheeled machines while a not
surprisingly large crowd watched on with school-boy grins strapped
to their faces. Meanwhile inside the friendly Sportzone staff were
handing out coffees, fitting helmets and clothing, organising test
rides in between a few sneak peeks at the action unfolding outside.
As the warmer weather begins to hit us we plan on doing many
more days like this so stay tuned to the Sportzone e-News and be
sure to join us!

Advanced Rider Training Day
Sunday 19th September - Levels Raceway Timaru

Enough great things can not be said about the Golightly
Insurance Services Advanced Rider Training Days.
The ultimate goal of these days is to use proven teaching
methods along with skilled and experienced instructors
to teach skills to motorcyclists of all levels that could one
day save your life on the road.
With a heavy focus on emergency braking, the ARTD
allows riders the opportunity to test and progress their
riding skills in the safety and comfort of the race track
and with demonstration from instructors.
'Did you know that 90% of braking on motorcycles should be done with the front brake?'
No matter your experience level you will learn skills that could one day save your life and be able to practice
them in a safe, controlled environment.

The cost for this day is only $30 per rider!
You must be at Levels Raceway at 8am ready for riders
briefing at 8:30am. Riders will then be split in to seperate
groups with each group learning the theory of each skill set
before putting it in to practice.
Any rider on any motorcycle is welcome to attend this day
provided your bike is up to WOF standard. If you are unsure
whether your bike is ready for the track simply phone Steve
and book your bike in for a pre-track safety check, or
click here to book your book in online.
For more information please don't hesitate to phone or visit
Dean or flick him an email at dean@sportzonesuzuki.co.nz.
We look forward to seeing you there!
